Our Aim

To ensure that all our volunteers feel safe and stay safe while working with us.

If at any time you experience or witness a situation which you consider unsafe, please let a committee member know.

Minimum Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

For all work in the park, we ask you to wear the following clothing:

  • Long sleeved shirt
  • Long pants
  • Sturdy boots
  • Gloves
  • Safety glasses when required

We can supply safety glasses and gloves if you don’t have your own.

Check-in and Leaving

At each working bee we will have a safety briefing in the car park at 9:30.

If you arrive later than 9:30, please check in with a committee member.

When you leave please let a committee member know.

If you are working away from the main area and it’s difficult to check in at the car park at 9:30, please do so by mobile phone.

Staying within sight of other workers

Always try to stay within sight of another volunteer. If you do need to work where there is no-one else within sight, please have your mobile phone with you. We will provide you with a list of committee members’ numbers.

Fire Season

We will cancel working bees on days of Total Fire Ban.

Should there be a fire in the area while we are working, we will assess the threat to decide whether we need to leave the site. We will inform volunteers personally and by mobile phone.
